To keep your vinyl and CD collection clean and organized, here are some tips:
Vinyl Records
vinyl LP records
  • Store vinyl records upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
  • Use a soft, anti-static brush to gently remove dust and debris from the record's surface before and after each use.
  • When necessary, clean vinyl records with a specialized record cleaning solution and a soft, lint-free cloth (Our kits are ideal!)
  • Handle vinyl records carefully, holding them by the edges or the centre hole to avoid leaving fingerprints or smudges on the surface. You could pickup a pair of our gloves here.
CDs

  • Store CDs in their original cases or sleeves to protect them from scratches, dust, and other damage.
  • Handle CDs carefully, avoiding touching the underside of the disc where the data is stored. Hold CDs by the edges or the centre hole.
  • Clean CDs with a soft, lint-free cloth or a specialized CD cleaning solution like Clear Groove and a microfiber cloth. Wipe from the centre of the disc outward in a straight line.
  • Keep CDs organized by storing them alphabetically, by genre, or by any other system that works for you. Consider using a CD organizer or storage rack to keep your collection tidy and easily accessible. See our media divider section for indexing solutions and dividers.
By following these tips, you can keep your vinyl and CD collection clean, organized, and in great condition for years to come!
